The Republic of Gremmenton, officially the Democratic Republic of Gremmenton, is a European self-proclaimed independent micronation landlocked within in Latvia that claims 0.0035 km2 (0.0014 sq mi; 0.86-acre) of land, Gremmenton is mainly based on the online chatting platform Discord and claims multiple enclaves in areas such as the United States, Switzerland, Sweden, Iraq, and England. The republic declared independence from Latvia on March 28, 2025 and is now led by Cheseknights. Gremmenton has over 200 citizens, a Police Force, a Military, and a Parliament. Gremmenton is considered a direct democracy.
History
The Gremmentonian nation was founded on 28 March 2025. The nation began to grow from posting shorts on YouTube at first, of and it still does. At first, the nation had struggled with a lack of resources, starting a very short war on 31st March, 2025, resulting in a Gremmentonian Win.
The result of the Gremmentonian-Latvian war was an Anycubic 3D printer, Shortly after this, Gremmenton had its first general meeting discussing its future.
Tragedy struck a day after when a "Cyber attack" had hit the nation, causing the creation of a Military. The first Vice President election took place, resulting in a win for Crumble. Cheseknights created the alliance, MATO soon after.
Culture
Gremmenton is mainly a Christian country, but we accept people of all ethnicities/religions!
Gremmentonian culture and history is preserved and maintained by the Gremmentonian History Initiative (GHI).
Politics
Gremmenton operates a medium-sized parliament consisting of 9 members. Those members include Hungary, Air Force Lt. Eric Hartmann, Segnosaur, Zack, ItsTheRookie, Vice President Thunder, Cheseknights, Air Force Squadron Leader Rook (PM per Sector), and Sparkmaker12 (PM per Sector).1
Climate
The climate of Gremmenton is humid continental (Köppen Dfb). The coldest months are January and February, when the average temperature is −2.1 °C (28 °F) but temperatures as low as −20 to −25 °C (−4 to −13 °F) can be observed almost every year on the coldest days. The proximity of the sea causes frequent autumn rains and fogs. Continuous snow cover may last eighty days. The summers in Gremmenton are mild and rainy with an average temperature of 18 °C (64 °F), while the temperature on the hottest days can exceed 30 °C (86 °F).
